I LOVE this movie. So much!

And these are my favorite quotes, taken from imdb.com.

Gru: [to Miss Hattie] You are a beautiful woman. Do you speak Spanish?
Miss Hattie: Do I look like I speak Spanish?
Gru: You have a face… Como un burro.
Miss Hattie: Oh! Well, thank you!

[repeated line]
Gru: Light bulb!

Edith: Are these beds made out of bombs?
Gru: Yes, but they are very old and highly unlikely to blow up. But try not to toss and turn.
Edith: Cool!

Agnes: I like him. He’s nice.
Edith: He’s scary.

Agnes: Will you read us a bedtime story?
Gru: No.

Gru: The physical appearance of the please makes no difference.

****

Gru: [reading book] “Three little kittens love to play. They had fun in the sun all day. Then their mother came out and said, ‘Time for kittens to go to bed’.”

Gru: Wow, this is garbage. You actually like this?

Agnes: [re the stuffed unicorn] He’s so fluffy, I’m gonna die!

Agnes: Why are you wearing your pajamas?
Vector: They’re not pajamas! It’s my warm-up suit.

Vector: For doing stuff.
Margo: What kind of stuff?
Vector: Super-cool stuff you wouldn’t understand.
Agnes: Like sleeping?

****

Vector: [stranded on the moon] Oh, poop!

This evil thing named “fruit”

fruit
Ok, so this is a “What the Fudge?!” rant.

Why is it sooo weird (or I don’t know what) for some people I work with if I eat fruit (or like to eat fruit)?
I eat fruit and veggies daily.
I eat my veggies for dinner and my fruit at work, seeing I spend most of my active day at work (how sad), it’s a good snack, it’s got nutrients and I’m just not in the mood to eat fruit in the evening (unless I make a shake).
I eat at least three different fruits a day, apples, nectarines, pears, grapes, mangos… you name it. It’s boring to always eat the same. So, at the beginning of the week I go shopping for fruits. Seeing the week has five working days I buy 5 times 3 fruits. Meaning, I’ve got about 15 fruits in my fruit bowl (at the moment I’ve got apples, pears and nectarines). They’ll last for the whole week, I only have to go shopping once.
It’s weird for people who visit me in my office to see that bowl full of fruits. They’ll ask me “LOL are you selling this? Is this just for decoration? What – You are actually EATING this?!?!” When they see me cutting my fruit in the kitchen to mix it with cereal or yogurt they mostly comment. “Oh, you always eat soo healthy” is one of the most comments I get.
It gets annoying after you’ve heard it for a few times. Now I just smile and say “yes” – in the beginning I always felt that I had to justify why I’m eating fruit.

And I wonder why the hell is it so not-normal for people if someone eats a lot of fruit. I wonder if those people never eat fruit? If their wifes (yes, it’s mostly the men who eat no fruit at work at all) never buy fruit for them because fruit is bleh and too healthy and just bleh?!
Are the women who see me eat fruit frustrated because they’d rather eat a sandwich or a candy bar as a snack and know that an apple is healthier than a Snickers?

I don’t know…

Things I love while biking in the City pt.I

What I love and enjoy most when I ride to work and back home: little hideaways where there are no cars and almost never people. I always look for little sideways I can ride and I’m more than happy to take a bit longer to work but to have the feeling I’m riding in nature.
Biking in the City
Sometimes it’s really hard to believe I’m in the middle of a big city 🙂

Eccentric Training

Or, negative training, started for me yesterday.
Schatzi Negative Training
It’s good, it’s different, I first need to get used to it but I’ll be doing it for the next couple of weeks.

So, this week was full of nice events.

  • On Monday I went to Body Pump, used the weights I used before my vacation four weeks ago to find out it’s almost impossible for me to keep up. But it all worked out, I just didn’t do as many repetitions. I drove 35km to work and home because the weather was lovely.
  • On Tuesday I went to work by bike as well and when I wanted to ride home again I found my bike with a big fat flat tire. Boo. So I went home by train and fixed up my old mountainbike (which I have as a backup). Luckily I just had to pump the tires with air, no flat tire or something similar. In the evening the BF and me went to a beergarden to enjoy the evening with beer and good food.
  • On Wednesday I drove to work with my Raleigh. It’s such a heavy small bike and the saddle is terrible but yet my speed was faster and I got to work within 55 minutes (for 18km). I went to the gym after to do two rounds in the strength circuit.
  • Thursday was luxury – I took the car to work seing I wanted to bring a plant. Had lunch at Subway and did absolutely nothing that day. Well, I went for a three minute bike-ride to our local grocery store to get some Ben & Jerrys, but that’s it.
  • Friday was a rainy day and luckily the temperature cooled everything. Made three rounds of the eccentric training and had one hour of Bodystyling with barbells. We had dinner at a “Turkish restaurant”, meaning doner kebab and french fries. Oh yummy!

Let’s see what the weekend brings.

Days full of food

There are days, I don’t know what’s wrong, where I could just eat and eat and eat. I have a craving half an hour after I ate a bowl of cereal or after I couldn’t resist that candy bar. At the moment I could really eat like a pig. And no, I’m not pregnant. I did a lot of sport this week so I hope it’s just my muscles – wanting MORE!

Today after I had cereal for breakfast, a sports granola bar, a Subway Sandwich for Lunch (Chicken Fajita Day, Honey Mustard sauce, wheat bread) a salad with bread for dinner, I was craving more. So I grabbed my wallet and went to the grocery store which is like 2 minutes away and bought… Ben & Jerry’s – Half Baked. I ate about half of it. Shocking.

I have those days, they come about once a month for 7+ days (yeah, mostly before I get my period), I just feel that I should give my body (and brain) what it really wants 😉 I hope I’m not the only one (who has cravings like this).

I also bought two new Under Armour tops – hot pink and black. I’m also craving colorful Nike running shoes, either in yellow or pink 🙂

Just a random dinner post

Why do so many bloggers post their dinner? Maybe to have something to blog about, I don’t know.
Here’s our dinner we had tonight
Dinner @ Schatzi
Quinoa with Gnocchi (made in butter with sunflower and pumpkin seeds) and green asaparagus made in olive oil with garlic and onions. And herbs and spices. It was very yummy and the lover was proud he ate a dinner without meat.

Last week was a very hot one. Around 35° Celsius Monday to Thursday. At the gym I only made my strength circuit and on Friday I made some barbell training. Cardio I made by riding my bike to work every day (35km) or going jogging, although it was soo hot I didn’t even go jogging. It’s cooler now, it’s raining every now and again and it’s 20° Celsius colder than last week. I’ll go to the gym tomorrow morning again for a few hours. Can’t wait 🙂

Gym Day #10

  • 15:20 – 15:30: Cross-Trainer
  • 15:30 – 15:54: Strength Circuit
  • 16:00 – 17:00: spinal excercise
  • 17:00 – 17:45: Aerobics
  • 17:45 – 18:05: HIIT Treadmill

Calories lost: 820

Today is the first time I showered at the gym. Wasn’t all that weird. We’re going to the movies to see Oblivion in half an hour. Can’t wait to snuggle up in that cinema chair, eat some popcorn and watch a movie 🙂

Happy May 2013

Things I have planned for this month:

  • Celebrate my sister’s birthday
  • Book our summer vacation
  • join the gym (test it before)
  • go to the gym regularly
  • buy a new bike helmet, not so happy with the current one

That’s pretty much it. And hopefully finally wear shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops and not long jeans, Chucks, sweaters, jackets, umbrellas… but, next week it should rain every day.
At least I got my balcony all pretty and it makes me happy 🙂
