Oh October

This post is nothing but a rant. I don’t want pity or anything, I just need to rant… Well, and there’s a question at the end, you can just skip my rant 😉

Although it’s the “Golden October” here in Germany, it’s been not so golden for me.

The end of September my mole got removed. Three weeks I couldn’t wash my face decent, three weeks I had to wear a band-aid over the wound, three weeks I couldn’t shower (I took baths). So, three weeks I had limitations which got annoying after a while.

On October 9th I got sick. Nothing bad, just a cold which kept me in bed until Sunday. I felt like sh**, drank tea and water all day long, had a sore throat, a bad headache, my boobs hurt like crazy ((don’t ask me why))… I canceled the seminar I should have visited Monday ((the 13th)) to Wednesday about Apache Tomcat, I wished I could have taken part in it.

On Thursday, October 16th, halfway healthy again, I got my wisdom teeth removed. Luckily, only on one side. I felt like sh** Thursday to Saturday. I could only eat mash, although, I was so hungry all the time ((I have a quite big stomach 🙂 )) that I ate “normal” food as well.

On Sunday, October 19th, my sisters, my nephew, my mom and I had a great day. We ate brunch together and took a walk. Three days later, on Wednesday, my mom was hospitalized due to heavy diarrhea and an allergic attack. She got the wrong antibiotics and got an acute poisoning. I was so worried and felt like sh** again, Wednesday to Friday. I hardly ate (and lost four pounds 🙂 ), cried a lot and felt horrible. My family is the most important thing in life to me and if one of the family members gets sick, I’m terrible worried. Luckily everything went well with my mom, she got about 20 infusions, all the tests the hospital made turned out great and we hope she can get released tomorrow.

On Friday, October 24th, the stitches in my mouth got removed and the “band” the dentist put in my hole, where my bottom wisdom tooth once was, got removed. It felt so yucky! Since Friday my throat hurts again and the wounds in my mouth still hurt a little as well. I’m guessing the sore throat this time is from the wounds in my mouth.

Bah! Oh, and I got my period too and had PMS and a terrible headache last week as well. I’m happy everything is sort of over now and hope to start a great November.

Ah ok, end of all my “problems”, now, I need your opinion. Some of my family members are flying to the States and I begged for a new “Bed in a Bag”. My mom finally said yes (note: the reason she wasn’t so happy about it is that it takes up a whole lot of space in the suitcase) and now I can’t really decide which one I want. What do you think?

After reading that Linens’n Things is closing, I surfed to their site and found all kind of pretty bedding things and soooo cheap. I can even afford it 😀 It’s great. I’m in love with this one, but I’m pretty sure the Lover wouldn’t be too happy about it. *sigh*

  • Wall-E Kleenex box: Oh yeah baby! I bought two of those. Couldn’t resist that cuteness <3
  • O.B. tampons: No, I don’t need so many at once, but it’s always good to have a few extra. Pro comfort, of course.
  • Cilia teafilters: Since I’ve had a cold I’ve been drinking tea (is that grammar correct?). Herbal tea. I’m not sick anymore but the tea still tastes good.
  • Herbal Essences: Because it smells soooo good. I’ve been testing shampoos and conditioners lately and I’m not satisfied with most of them. My hair looks greasy after one day. Herbal I like though (Pantene Pro-V and Elvital too)
  • F.R.I.E.N.D.S: Season 3 – on sale for €10 ($13)! Now I’m only missing season 1 and 2. This is what I like about being “not rich” – it takes years until I have all ten seasons together. If I were rich I could buy all ten at once, which would be quite boring. (btw, Friends in German SUCKS!)
  • Floss: The dentists favorite!
  • Hairband: In pink and in the kids-section. The circlets for adults are too big for my small head :(. I’d like a brown one, but it seems like kids only wear pink, blue, red and purple, in addition with flowers and bows.
  • Ajax: Because that’s my answer for everything. I use it in my kitchen, bathroom, on my desk & table. It’s perfect.

Mole – Sick – Teeth

I’ve been sick the last couple of days. I got “the thing that’s going around these days” which contains a sore throat, a terrible headache (starting at 17:00 – thanks for Advil) and just feeling bleh! The Lover came daily and took care of me. He bought me herbal medicine, made me tea, rubbed menthol-balm on my back and chest and filled my aching body with love ((by laying close next to me)).

My mole is doing fine, thanks for the comments 🙂 It was nothing dangerous, I could have left it big and fat in my face, but to see why it’s all big and fat the doctor suggested to cut it out. Turns out there was a cyst underneath it. There’s still a bunch of glue ((a suturation was not performed)) and dried blood around the scar, I have no idea if it will fall of or if I should carefully peel it off. The glue works so well (thank god), that I had to scratch it off my cheek away with a nail scissors, so therefore the doubt it’ll just fall off. Anybody have experience with this?

I called in sick for work today which sucks, because I would have been able to attend an “Apache Tomcat” training today to Wednesday. Seeing I’m not fit 100% I didn’t join. Plus, I need to be healthy again by Thursday 11:00 because that’s when my wisdom teeth ((left side)) will be pulled. Gaaah!! 🙁 I am NOT looking forward to that. I got the right side pulled about 6 years ago, the operation itself was good, just the days after were sucky. I’ll post pictures 😉
