Meeting an online friend

I’m excited. It’s not 100% yet, but I might be meeting my long-term online friend Bine from Dresden. She’s probably visiting Munich in March with her boyfriend, I really hope they’re coming, and then we would meet.
Exciting – I’ve never met one of my online friends. I, in generally, know less people from Germany who post blogs or in forums. None of my friends have a site.

Have you ever met some/one of your online friends? If no, would you want to? If yes, was it awkward?

  1. i’ve met one of my friends from online before. we had talked for a while and she lived just about 3 hours away from me, in the same state. we ended up meeting and she stayed with my boyfriend and i for a weekend and it was the most god awful experience. evar. she wasn’t anything like she was online, just REALLY. REALLY. … REALLY annoying. smelled bad. was really whiny… ugh. god. it was horrible. BUT, i did meet one of my ex boyfriends (for the record, he became my boyfriend AFTER we met. lol.) online and he was great. so… i guess you just never really know. lol.

  2. I met my cute German boyfriend <3 And it was far from awkward. I think I have never talked with anyone as much as I talked with Jo when we met. 😀 Things happen :), I don’t mind. (We weren’t dating before meeting offline.)

    Anyway I hope you’ll have nice time with Bine 🙂

  3. I met my husband on the internet. That was a major thing. You CAN find love online, and it CAN be wonderful people! 😀 Other than that… I don’t guess I’ve met anyone else from the internet. I live sort of close to several Q*Bee members though that maybe I may run into some day. *gasp!* Who knows! I hope your meeting goes nice. 🙂

  4. That sounds exciting! I’ve never met anyone from the internet world in real life before, except, if you count people that you meet on Myspace, hehe. I’ve met to guys from Myspace, but they are people who live around here anyway, one of them even goes to the same college I go.

    Well, I hope you e-friend comes and you have lots of fun. Beware of the pyscho rapist possiblities 🙂
