The Job is Mine!

… and I’m happy.
My internship at the remote sensing company ended September 28th and today I was told that I can work there two half days a week during the semester. God thanks! It fits in perfectly with my schedule and I’m happy I can work at the company where I’ll write my diploma in February and where I’m planning on working in the future. I’m glad they need me, too!

So, after I got that lovely message I went shopping!
I bought my nephew (it’s his 3rd birthday on Saturday) some Play-Doh, I bought myself some lovely pink goggles (when I go swimming without them my eyes look as if I smoked about five joints – or worse) and I bought two books, The Great Gatsby and Animal Farm. They were both recommended at SNARK and I need books to read.

Class has been going well so far. The professors already let us know when they won’t be there – nice! We had to chose a presentation topic in Geography class today and I chose Turkey (the country?). Also if I’m not a big fan, I’m still very interested in the people, the culture, the politics and the countryside. I guess I’m just not that big of a fan of the behavior of some Turks here in Germany. Their religion is quite fascinating yet I do not understand it. The speech has to be about 30 minutes long and I guess I should start researching soon.

Any thing else I could write about? Hm, well, my Ex got engaged. He lives in Texas and we only have contact through MySpace. I’m happy for him, it still is weird though, somehow, maybe. Eh – I don’t know. It was weird for maybe one second. How do you deal with things like that (marriage, kids, new girlfriend/boyfriend), if an Ex tells you about it?

7.Semester

As of tomorrow I’m in my 7th semester and this is my schedule

I have never had such an empty one. I’m going to take optional subjects like Spanish or business classes too and I’m hoping I’m able to work half days during the semester, I need the money for some geography books. I love to buy books for class, see?

On Friday I had my last working day. And the usual thing is to bring a cake. I didn’t bring (or bake) a cake though, I brought 20 donuts

Those tasted so yumm! I’m lucky because I only know of one donut place in Munich and it’s only TEN minutes away from my place (not even).

The lover and I spent the weekend in Austria, we went hiking and relaxed. It was lovely and the weather was great.
So, what’s your favorite thing to do on a weekend?

It has started

Last Friday I did the biggest mistake of the year – I met a friend downtown, ONE DAY before the Oktoberfest started. That actually wasn’t my mistake. The mistake was that I took my bike. BIG mistake. Tourists everywhere! Mostly Americans. But also Asians, Indians, Italians etc. Yeah, the “Wiesn” started on Saturday. How I looo-hoooove this time – how I loooo-hooove Munich during that time. [/sarcasm]
I like the Oktoberfest, I like to go there, walk around, go on some rides, buy lots of candy, let the lover buy me a gingerbread heart (tradition), put on my Dirndl. I like going into a “Bierzelt” (beertent) with a bunch of people, sit and drink and dance. BUT I hate it that the Oktoberfest has turned into this huge “Let’s drink till we barf” festival. A few years ago it was normal to go to the Wiesn, let’s say, at noon time, go into a tent and have lunch. A nice yummy chicken and a liter of beer. Now – if you get to the Wiesn at noon, fine. But if you want to go into a tent at noon – too late. Unfortunatelly the morons are waiting infront of the tents since 7am, waiting for it to open at 10am (during the week) so that they can RUN to the tables and be drunk by 11am. Joy!

I’ve registered for Qigong, the course starts Thursday, October 4th. Can’t wait, Qigong sounds quite interesting and I wonder what it’s like. That’s what I need. Work is slow, I’m frustrated there, the relationship – it’s good, but not as perfect as usual, I’m bitchy. My soul didn’t have a good time the last few weeks so now the lover pushes me to do Sport and I registered for that course. I’m eating a lot of junk, but as of today my life will change. The lover and I went swimming today after work. It was exhausting, but good. After that we had a healthy dinner with a lot of veggies and healthy bread. I’m feeling good :o)

Career Cruising (.com)

I found Cindy posting about her top 10 careers. I thought she made them up at first (I was proud to read “GIS Specialist” in her choice, but then I noticed she took a nifty little test at CareerCruising.com, so, being the test-horny-test-taker I am, I took it and that’s what came out. Comments made by me 🙂

1.Computer Support Person (Nah)
2.Industrial Designer (Not interested in)

4.Drafter (nope)
5.Animator (oh gosh, NO!!)
6.Air Traffic Controller (Hmm… doesn’t sound like a dream job)
7.Cartographer (Yeah Baby! Studying this)

9.Fashion Designer (nah)
10.Land Surveyor (Yeah Baby! Studying this)

I’m still working on my site, the pages aren’t done yet (at all) but I was really really sick of my last layout. The brown got darker and darker each day.
This is my first Layout on schatzi.me which includes pictures of me/us in the header. Do I like it, do I not?
