This, and this, and that too

I sold my car. Well actually, my parents sold it (thanks mom and dad). I actually wanted to sell it myself but realized that I have no time at all before the end of July and my parents offered to do it.

I wanted to sell James, the Mini, a long time ago but last year my mom would say absolutely NO to going down in price. This year though, I went down (I advertised it online and in the newspaper) and now it’s gone.

I got an email from a guy in Paris just asking “can I pay you less – cash?”. I’m always skeptical with people/emails like that, but an interesting email-chat between my mom and I came up:

Me: I replied to that person: “Hey there, sorry, we only do bank transfer, no cash”.

Her: But Trace, that means that he could come here with the cash and then all you have to do is go to the bank and have it checked out! Mom

Me: But Mom, he could come, from France, with two big and tall guys, have only a few Euros with him, kick dad in his balls, force you to give them blowjobs and then take off with the car… you know?

Her: What a big, super laugh I just had before I go in bed!! Especially with the blow jobs! And not only that – poor dad’s balls!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we’re pretty open with each other haha.

I’m happy I sold him, he cost me so much the last years.

And I need a new PC, seeing my video card is kaputt – again (meaning I’m looking at a lot of pixel lines that move around the monitor) and I’d like to buy a Dell. I already search online daily, look at the different models and what you can order with them 🙂

So.. Laptop or Tower??

It happened today

First of all, thanks a lot for all the comments on this layout, I enjoyed reading them and I’m glad you’re liking this design.

Second – I ordered another shirt at Threadless.com which came last friday. Yay. Like it? I think it’s pretty cool – but pretty much every shirt there is pretty cool. Plus the quality is great. So – get yourself a credit card and start ordering 🙂 I’m glad I got my credit card for “When I’m out of Europe – in case of money emergency” situations. I haven’t used it for this reason once.

Today – a small “catastrophe” happened. How proud am was I of myself that I have never, in those many years, ever dropped my camera. Well, today – it happened. I pulled it out of the lovers backpack and the camera flew right out of the case. Of course I blamed the lover for it (“You didn’t close it right”) but of course – it wasn’t his fault. In situations like this though I guess you always look for someone else to blame? Or no? Is it just me?
Anyways, it still works, but it won’t stop zooming. The zoom-button got pressed inside the camera and … yeah… 🙁 I need to try to fix it. I sure hope it lets itself get fixed.
The lover and I drove up to the Olympia Hill to enjoy the sunset and we took pictures and I’m happy that I can still get the pictures on my PC.
Alex took that ^ picture. Now isn’t he creative? 😉

Life’s quite busy. Or calm. Or whatever you want to call “studying all day”. It’s study time again and you’ll probably see the Category “library” quite often again. Exams are starting July 11th, I’m writing Photogrammetry, Thematical Cartography, SQL & Databases, Remote Sensing and Internet Cartography.
Some more, some less interesting. Just like in every study course, I guess?

New Layout

[EDIT]
Thanks guys for all your suggestions and comments on the layout. I’ll change and edit the design. 😉
[/EDIT]

shirt I got sick of the busy layout two layouts ago – I made a simple dark layout – I didn’t like it, it was unfriendly and I didn’t want to look at my site – I create another “busy” layout which you are looking at now. At least it is friendly. 🙂

I got inspired by this shirt I bought (move your eyes to the left). At the moment I can’t find my camera, so I’m posting this hot stranger. Well, the t-shirt itself didn’t inspire me – the colors did. I sat infront of the PC, opened Photoshop, double clicked on the color, looked at my shirt, looked at the colors in Photoshop 🙂 I think it turned out quite ok, no?

I have two blog entries as drafts: Dream Cheating and The messynator. Explaining the first title – I had a dream a few days ago that Alex needed to earn money and I made the suggestion that he should work as a callboy and sleep with other women. Long dream short – in the end I didn’t want him to sleep with other women. Argh, I hate it when I dream of him cheating. I’ve dreamt that more often, let’s say about … three times in two years of our relationship.

About the latter post title – seeing I’m so busy with class right now my apartment is taking over… ME! The mess rules, the mess has total control over me. I am was good with cleaning the dishes, but now they’re just one big pile. I have piles of papers on my couch (my couch btw, turned into a closet and desk) which I need to organize – soon.

Ooh, if I had money I’d get a cleaning woman. I hope I’ll dream about that tonight…

Layout

Sorry for not blogging (if you bother 😉 ), but this layout is causing me depressions. I’m working on a new one and I hope I’ll get it up in a few days latest.

Atlas Class and Pages

So, today I coded all my pages AWAY from WordPress. I don’t know why I got started with WP Pages at first anyways. Well, yes, I do know, it’s much more easier. I have no idea why WP goofed up the permalinks, “it” has done that with more weblogs. But at least now I moved back to normal .php sites and not pages that are somewhere saved in the Database. If you notice errors or something similar please let me know.

atlaskartographie Atlascartography is killing me. Wait, actually it’s quite fun, but it takes up so damn much time. Wanna see? Those charts basically show you how many households there have beein in Munich in the year 2000, depending on one, two, three and four + people. Sisyphus work and a lot of statistic… and of course… Freehand, the oh so lovely software. I don’t understand why we’re still using that. Adobe bought Macromedia, so why not work with Illustrator?

Back from Austria

Alex and I went hiking on Saturday. We made an eight hour tour and it was great. We hiked about 2000 altitude difference and we both almost couldn’t move on Sunday 🙂

More on my Flickr.
I’ve missed going into the mountains so much. The last time we went was in September. In the summer we’re planning on staying a week or so in Austria to try a lot of different routes.

Can you access my pages? They won’t work for me and I have no idea what’s wrong… The comments won’t work either… dangit!!!

[EDIT] – so… it’s the permalinks that are messed up.
Anyways, I’m not going to stay with the WordPress Pages, I’m going to code them on my PC and upload them on my server (the pages). I feel saver that way anyways… Soooo… some of my pages will not work yet.

Who I am

So, I took the Visual DNA test because I found it on Helga’s Site, and this is what I chose:

I’m a Love-bug? Remember I once had still have a domain called cuddle-bug? That’s neat.

Gah, I’m doing Cartography right now. We have a attestation tomorrow and of course, I have to wait until the last minute to get things done. This will be a long night tonight again… I work best under pressure, ya know 😉
This is how the legend looks so far. –> What a mess. I dislike working with Macromedia Freehand pretty much. Wish me patience 😛

Why do I blog?

Bubs tagged me, so I guess I’ll have to go for it 😉

Why do I blog?
Good question. The only person to ask me that was my mom, because she is concerned that I’ll meet creepy sex murders online who’ll stalk and eventually kill me. I tried to explain to her that on forums and through my site I’ve met great people, but I’m pretty sure she can’t understand and thinks everybody who knows a little about me through my site is a stalker and sex murder as well 😛

Anyways… I blog because I like to?
I blog because sometimes I’m so pissed I need to let the world know how angry I am.
I blog because sometimes I’m so happy that I need to let the world know as well.
I blog because I know some great people read what I write and I want to keep in touch with them.
I blog because I’ve met some great people because, just like Bubs wrote, my blogs at times reflect who and how I am and some people can relate to me?
I blog because it makes me happy to see comments from people sharing their opinion on my posts.

So… now I need to name three people who should blog about why they blog?

I’m a cow

I love riding my bike through Munich, the city with inconsiderate car drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. It’s a pleasure, for sure.
I know I should just not care how people “are”, how they react and for what reason. But for some reason I do care and I wonder why do some people react the way they do.

I was biking through Munich, I was on the bicycle lane on the right street side. The traffic light turns green for me, I see a woman coming my way (meaning she’s on the wrong side of the street), on a bike, taking up the whole bicycle lane. So I drive slow, almost stop, drive on the far right of the lane to let her by.
She drives passed me and says “Stupid cow”. I was so perplexed. I yelled at her “Geht’s noch??” – in English maybe something like… are you kidding me?. If I wouldn’t have been in the middle of the street, seeing the traffic light was green, and if there would have been no cars waiting for me to get over the street, I would have turned around. Actually, I was quite pissed at myself once again, for not turning around and confront her.

I arrived my place a few minutes later, very very pissed, so pretty damn pissed – so I called the lover. I called him because at the moment he’s reading a book on “How to live an easier life”. 🙂 He indeed could calm me, so I’m pretty sure I’ll start reading that book after he’s done…

Good sites and bad sites

I signed up for Designsnack.com a few days ago and mainly got negative votes. The positive votes I got are from “online friends” (thanks guys), and I am wondering why I have gotten the negative votes. Unfortunatelly people just vote without a review, seeing it’s no WPR.

I clicked my way through some Approved sites and most of them are either really great coded with a lot of CSS effects or flash and others are very plain.

So I’m asking myself if only sites like those get listed in those kind of galleries? I won’t even sign up for CSS-galleries, I know my site isn’t even close to those great CSS-Sites and I don’t even want to sign up, but I’m wondering if personal sites like Lunastar.org, which I really like because they have a nice design and nice content, don’t even have a chance of getting “accepted” out of the fact that they look, let’s say more normal and not all css-y or flash-y?

I’d love it if you post the positive and negative things about my site when you’re commenting, if you’re in the mood.

I bought a new bike helmet on Friday. I dragged the boyfriend with me downtown (he has been a professional bike racer once) to help me find a good one. He’s the biggest fan of Giro Helmets, so, of course I had to get one of that company.

Like it? It wasn’t that expensive and I’m glad I got it. Everytime I drove my bike through Munich I felt like driving a car without the seatbelt on. It’s just too dangerous, most of the people don’t pay attention to others.

The weather here is still great and I’m off to the park again…
